New “Tank 6” Construction Update

The Sandwich Water District is thrilled to share progress on our latest endeavor: the construction of the 0.5 million-gallon spheroid-style elevated tank, affectionately known as “Tank 6.” Located at 295 Service Road on property owned by the Sandwich Water District, this impressive structure stands tall at 125 feet.

We’re excited to announce that the steel construction phase has been successfully completed as of December 12, 2023. The next steps include the commencement of final site work, installation of water mains, electrical setup, altitude valve vault construction, and general site enhancements. These steps are scheduled to kick off in March or earlier, subject to weather conditions.

Looking ahead, the painting, both interior and exterior, is slated to begin in April/May 2024. As of our current timeline, we anticipate Tank 6 to be online and operational by mid-August 2024.

Attached are some captivating photos showcasing the remarkable progress of Tank 6. Stay tuned for further updates as we work towards enhancing our water infrastructure to better serve the community.
